An Israeli iPhone app allows users to keep track of rocket fire from Gaza on southern Israel by correlating data via push notifications whenever a missile alert is sounded.

While not an official warning system, this app could literally save your life; Depending on user distance, residents living in the south of Israel generally have 15 seconds to run for cover from the time of a Color Red. Everytime a Color Red is signalled, a notification is sent to the phone displaying the number of seconds since the missile warning.

Impressively strategized by 13 year old Beersheba resident Liron Bar, constant missile reports are sent to the facebook page in tandem with the applications reporting system.

The app was developed voluntarily by Kobi Snir, and since the beginning of the conflict has been downloaded 130,000 times.

If you have an account on the Israeli App Store, you can download Color Red right here.
