San Fran’s Roxie Theatre Trying to Raise Funds via Kickstarter

The famed Roxie, one of San Francisco’s last standing independent theatres, is in dire need of funding and they’re giving the internet first crack with a campaign hosted on Kickstarter.

Funds will be allocated “to continue presenting unique programming”.

The theatre, founded in 1909 is home to a few unique festivals such as SF Indiefest, SF Docfest and Frameline. Below is a clip from supporter and renowned filmmaker John Waters.
