There are some headlines you just can’t make up. It’s true, the original “party rocker” Andrew W.K. has been named as the US Cultural Ambassador to the Middle East.

The performer will travel to Bahrain in December “to promote partying and positive power in the troubled region.” Andrew was invited by the US EMbassy in Manama, in partnership with the US Department of State.

According to W.K.’s official website, he will begin his journey in early december, visiting elementary schools, the University of Bahrain, as well as various music venues to promote world peace, and of course partying. Because, the two go hand in hand of course.

Speaking about his upcoming role, Andrew said: “This is a tremendous invitation. I’m very thankful to the Department of State for giving me the opportunity to visit a place I’ve never been before. I feel very privileged and humbled by the chance to represent the United States of America and show the good people of Bahrain the power of positive partying. I can hardly wait for this adventure!”

Believe it or not, this isn’t even the weirdest thing the singer can add to his resume, after delivering a speech at the My Little Pony convention last month, in which he delivered his sermon on individuality. This man is definitely the right person for that job, given his eclectic work ethic.
