Fortunately, unlike the meaning of life, the answer here is pretty  simple. Kobe is appearing in a new ad for Turkish Airlines, which you can watch in full above.

The ad features the basketball star appearing alongside Turkish soccer (or football, whichever you prefer) star Leo Massi competing for the attention of the child.

The ad appears completely innocent, until the end Kobe’s holding something funny in his hand. And he would’ve gotten away with it too, if it hadn’t been for those meddling kids at Buzzfeed.
