After falling to an all-time low in ratings last season, following the exit of
Steve Carell, executives for NBC’s “The Office” have announced that the show will be coming to an end after its next season.
Fans have had the general sense that the series best days were far behind it, but this new season will see the original show runner (seasons 1 – 5) Greg Daniels make his return for the shows ninth and final season.
Daniels said in a statement to reporters, “This year feels like the last chance to make an artistic ending for the show. This will be the last season of The Office, and we’re planning a big exciting last season… all questions will be answered this year. We’re going to see who’s behind the documentary.”
That alone almost feels like a reason to tune in. Will you be watching?
