Say what you will about their sound, there’s no denying the motivation and drive displayed by The Killers in their relatively short career. Keeping with tradition, the band released their seventh Christmas-themed single today, to coincide with World Aids Day.
The Killers recorded the track on a day off during their recent U.K. tour. “I Feel It In My Bones,” is the title of this year’s efforts, and it features Ryan Pardey on vocals, portraying Santa Claus. Pardey also played this role on the band’s last holdiay single, 2007′s “Don’t Shoot Me Santa.”
The track itself is undeniably catchy and reminiscent of ’80s synth-pop. No one’s saying that’s a bad thing though. The brooding and dark song removes everything you loathe about Christmas music, and presents another ear-worm that the band is so used to dealing out.
Like previous holiday releases, all proceeds from the song will go toward’s Bono’s (RED) campaign, to help combat the HIV epidemic in Africa. The song will be available to purchase on iTunes as of December 4th.
