See The Sky is a brand new experimental metal project all the way from Denmark.

The creative core of the group consists of Blake Gardner (wearing the producer’s hat as well as covering the main guitar duties) and Bjarne Matthiesen on lead vocals. “What first started out as some harmless studio fun, quickly progressed into a serious ‘PsyMetal’ musical addiction”.

See The Sky bring a breath of fresh air to prog-metal, a style that should be wide open, by definition, but that often relies on the same, old cliches. This is definitely not the case of See The Sky, who managed to create something fresh and original with their unique twist and genre-defying attitude.

When you think about this particular music scene, a handful of names will undeniably come to mind. To mention one of the biggest names: Dream Theater, which, for better or worse have become a landmark of progressive metal through the years.
See The Sky however, couldn’t be more different as a band. The essence itself of the progressive-ness in their music comes from another perspective, definitely far from Dream Theater’s classic, 70s influenced style. The danish pair of metal veterans prefers to toy around with an array of modern sound formulas, from new metal, to hardcore, to thrash, post rock.
The sound even go beyond the realms of hardcore music, on to be influenced by more traditional forms of rock, psychedelia,as well possessing a cinematic feel at times, that could be featured in the soundtrack of some hollywood colossal.
