The headline really says it all. Soon, the infamous rapper’s bizarre rap-opera, that was first started in 2005, will be re-enacted on a stage near you.
After a screening of the latest episidodes in the “Trapped in the Closet” series, R Kelly held a Q&A session, where he revealed his plans to bring the series to Broadway, and eventually on tour.
Kelly stated he “just got an offer from Broadway to do a Broadway version” and was in the process of adapting the sereis. When asked if he would play himself in the production Kelly said, “Some of the cities, I can’t guarantee all of them, and that’s what’s being negotiated right now because it takes a lot of time to do these chapters - I’m the only one in the studio doing these chapters.”
“Trapped in the Closet” returns to IFC this Friday (November 23rd) with a brand new season consisting of another 20 chapters.
