This is Bolaji Badejo, a 7 foot 2 inch non-acting Nigerian who was discovered by casting agents prior to the screening of the 1979 smash-hit Alien. If you couldn’t guess, Bolaji eventually went on to star as the alien itself.

Here, Bolaji practices the Alien’s movements with a mock-up head in the corridors of the Nostromo.

The actor had yet to master the alien’s movement patterns as you can see in this video, yet in time for the movie Bolaji took mime and Tai-chi classes to achieve a more fluid, alien-like strut.
