After Nicki Minaj made headlines last week for her controversial rap on Lil Wayne’s latest mixtape, giving her endorsement for Mitt Romney, President Obama has now given his two cents regarding the situation that has so many all riled up.
Speaking to Orlando radio station Power 95.3, Obama said, “Yeah, I’m not sure that’s actually what happened. I think she had a song on there, a little rap that said that. But she likes to play different characters. So I don’t know what’s going on there.”
On the track “Mercy,” Minaj raps, “I’m a Republican, voting for Mitt Romney/ You lazy bitches is fuckin’ up the economy.” A line, which has caused many to express full on hatred for the rapper.
Obama didn’t seem to phased by the singer’s endorsement for the opposition though, revealing his own daughters didn’t even listen to Minaj.
While we’re all a little bit confused about Minaj’s political views and values, The Washington Post recently uncovered that the star isn’t even registered to vote.
