Thanks to a recent architectural competition, residents of Paris will soon be able to hop, jump, and bounce over the Seine River.
The “Bridge in Paris” competition “challenged participants to come up with a new contemporary bridge, and create a new icon or landmark.”
The winning entry was created by AZC Architecture studio that “conceived a massive inflatable trampoline bridge, in which pedestrians could bounce back and forth between La Rive Gauche and La Rive Droite.”
The structure will be formed out of inflatable modules, similar to a giant life preserver. In the central part of each inflatable ring, trampoline mesh will be stretched, to create three open enclosures of bouncy goodness.
No word yet on when construction of the structure will begin, but this is sure to become a popular landmark.
