We all remember the infamous KONY 2012 video from earlier this year, and the subsequent meltdown from Invisible Children co-founder on the streets of San Diego.

Since then, Russell has remained surprisingly quiet, given his reputation. That is, until now.  Russell recently sat down with Oprah Winfrey to give an interview for her new show Oprah’s Next Chapter.

Russell was placed in a 5150 psychiatric hold after “rampaging through the streets of San Diego without any clothes on,” the incident was instantly dubbed a “masturbation meltdown.”

Russell explained to Oprah that “he wasn’t himself at the time,” saying, “Again, it’s really hard to explain if people have never had an out of body experience, but it really wasn’t me. That wasn’t me, that person on the street corner ranting and raving and naked is not me, that’s not who I am.”

Russell’s wife, who is also featured in the interview special, claims her husband suffered from a “brief reactive psychosis” brought on by “extreme exhaustion, stress, and dehydration.” Russell himself didn’t mention any of this, but did admit he was “very out of control”

The interview will air this Sunday at 9 PM EST on the Oprah Winfrey Network, but it seems as though this is just one more publicity stunt for Invisible Children, who have coincided the release of their next “film” with Russell’s interview.

Will you be watching? Does anyone care anymore?
