For once, the cast of Jersey Shore is doing something good for humanity. The controversial cast has been actively noted for their efforts in helping victims of Hurricane Sandy, and subsequent relief efforts.
Snooki tweeted this morning, “Cleaning out of my closet to donate clothes and whatever I can do the victims affected by hurricane Sandy! I’m comin with clothes!!!!”
Vinny and Pauly D took less obvious efforts to help out, with Vinny donating via text message to the Red Cross, and Pauly D pioneering the hashtag #restoretheshore.
MTV also issued the following statement:
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected by the hurricane, especially our friends and business owners in Seaside Heights, NJ who are now part of the MTV family. MTV is actively exploring ways to best help with the recovery efforts, and in the meantime we are encouraging everyone to donate to the American Red Cross’ disaster relief efforts.
Rumor has it MTV is planning a benefit special for Seaside Heights to be hosted by the cast. MTV insiders have expressed concern for recruiting the male members of the cast, given recent beefs, but this is a great opportunity for the guidos to redeem themselves in front of a community who have not been overly receptive of their intrusion to the state of New Jersey.
It’s time to take a break from the GTL routine, and get to building back the boardwalk.
