A giant oak tree that had been standing in a town park in Connecticut for over one hundred years was brought down by Hurricane Sandy’s significant winds. While the tree was brought down it appears that the human remains it was masking have risen!

The roots of the giant tree were hiding a skeleton that was brought to the surface upon the trees demise, displaying a skull with an open mouth joined to spine and rib cage. The grinning ghost was reported on Halloween, tangled up in the roots alongside of what seems to be a time capsule. Whether the time capsule and skeleton are related is not yet known.

While the park was once known to house human remains, none were thought to still be present underneath the park. The tree, affectionately called the Lincoln Tree, was planted on the one hundredth year President Lincoln’s birth.
