Amidst all of the current conflict in the middle east, the Israeli division of Groupon has now come under attack.
A motive has yet to be stated (beyond the general hatred of Israel), nor is Groupon directly implicated in any rationale. It seems ’1337′ is merely using the prowess of the domain to attract attention. And if it’s attention that 1337 is trying to attract, you can bet they’ll get their fair share; they’ve placed email adresses on the hacked web page (see: [email protected]).
With no real mechanism for outreach, or claim to a militant group (i.e. Hamas) this hack is likely to have minimal affiliation with the current conflict between Hamas and Israel. Yet nonetheless, Israeli bargain hunters are without their deals for today.
