This may sound like overkill to some, but to any serious Johnny Cash fan out there, this could be a dream come true. Columbia Records has just announced plans to release an enormous Johnny Cash collection entitled Johnny Cash – The Complete Columbia Album Collection.
Although Cash split from the label later in his career, most of his most acclaimed singles and records were released on the famed label between 1958 and 1986. This recently announced box-set will feature all of those recordings on 63 discs, comprised of 59 albums and four bonus discs.
The collection marks the first ever release for 35 titles in particular, making this a sought after item for collectors. Other material in the collection will range from 1958’s The Fabulous Johnny Cash to 1990’s Highwayman 2. Also included are various live albums, soundtracks, and a plethora of rare titles.
