After being on shelves for 15 days Call of Duty: Black Ops II has grossed an un-fathomable $1 billion in worldwide retail sales.
The news doesn’t come as a complete surprise as last year’s edition of the game Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: More, More, War. was able to fetch $1 billion in roughly 16 days. What’s interesting to note as pointed out by the AV Club, is that it took Avatar a longer period of time to earn as high of a gross, 17 days to be specific.
While video gaming has always been a huge part of our society, it’s one that isn’t often compared to the largest blockbusters of all time; I’d say this is quite an impressive feat for the folks over at Activision, and can only hope they keep producing hits.
